Why and how Ayurvedic diagnosis is different than allopathic (modern medicine made) diagnosis?

Updated: Aug 27

Let me tell you a case of one of my clients who visited me for Ayurvedic solution for her excessive menstrual bleeding. She was suggested an operation for removal of the uterus(hysterectomy) as the last resort of the treatment. In our visit , I took her history with all other current symptoms, examined her in Ayurvedic way (nadi, udara, other symptoms in relevance with my observations) and told her that solution is Vamana- the Therapeutic vomitting-a well known karma out of Panchakarma. She was puzzled as how menstrual bleeding, has anything to do with my upper body? & how on earth can vomiting solve it?

Exactly! Nowadays every client as well as modern medicine doctors have the same question regarding such solutions offered by Ayurveda.

The answer is simple , that "Ayurvedic diagnosis" of excessive menstrual bleeding was "Adhoga Rakta pitta".Thus the solution for adhoga rakta pitta is vaman according to Ayurved's scientific approach.

In short, the modern medicinal system's diagnosis & Ayurvedic diagnosis is always different. How ? Ayurved thinks the same issue through the doshic point of view and that's the most important thing in solving through Ayurvedic methods. The right way is, that they need to be examined by the "Ayurvedic way of diagnosis". This makes easy /rather then only precise solution to a problem can be found from Ayurveda.

So it is very important to understand the doshic diagnosis of your problem before choosing medicine. This is the reason that every other person does not get benefit from CCF tea or every liver issue cannot be managed by Liv 52 or every period pain ( dysmenorrhea) cannot be solved by Ashokarishta, and every memory problem, or brain related pathologies cannot be treated with Brahmi ghee nasya.

So next time you ask if Ayurveda has any medicine for my issues, do think of getting consulted for the "right" Ayurvedic diagnosis (Nidaan) and apt solution accordingly.

Thank You
